Cancer Support

Petals Care understands that living with a long term condition and suffering from a lack of independence can be extremely challenging.  Our Cancer Care Support provided to our patients can be both rewarding and demanding.

We recognise that Cancer patients may feel more comfortable receiving support at home. Many patients want to stay at home so they will not be separated from family, friends and familiar surroundings. Receiving Cancer Support at home can help patients achieve this desire.  It often involves a team approach that includes Doctors, Nurses, Social Workers, Physical Therapists, Family members and others.  We will work closely with these individuals to ensure that we provide a holistic package of support at home.

Petals Care encourages patients to get as much information as possible on Cancer Support, enabling you and your family to make informed decisions around patient-centered Cancer Support.

Palliative Support

When you are suffering from a life-threatening illness, it can be a painful time for both you and your loved ones.  Our
Palliative Care Service aims to Support you during this difficult time, making life more comfortable for everyone involved.

Palliative care Service supports adults, young people or children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, whether that is terminal or curable, who wish to remain living in the comfort of their own homes.  This Service can be provided at all possible stages of illness, including pre-diagnosis, diagnosis, treatment, cure, death and bereavement.

The main objective of our Service is to achieve the best quality of life for you, as well as your family.  We understand that your family and friends may have strong feelings about your condition and it may be difficult for you to express your feelings for fear of upsetting them.  We can help you and your loved ones to discuss your feelings and provide extra Support, should your loved ones need to take a break.  In addition, we can provide Support through periods of bereavement.

As part of our Sensitive Palliative Care Service, we ensure that you are treated as an individual, with dignity and respect.  Taking into account the Cultural and Spiritual aspects of Care we will provide you with a Personalised Care Plan that will take into account your needs, preferences and choices.  We also like to ensure continuity of Care, which is why we only select a small amount of Carers to work with you and get to know your personality and Cultural preferences.

Holiday Care

We know that there is nothing quite like a holiday to recharge your batteries and just because you need regular care, doesn’t mean you should have to go without a break.  Our Holiday Care Service allows you the flexibility to take your care with you, wherever you go, in the UK or abroad.

Our Holiday Care Service supports individuals who find it difficult to go on holiday due to the level of Care and Support that they require whilst away from home, often resulting in them not getting the break they need.

Our Carer can accompany you on holiday in the UK or abroad, to support you with your activities of daily living.  This can be with you individually, or with your family and friends.  Having the support of a professional Carer allows you and your family to relax, safe in the knowledge that you are getting the personal attention and support that you need to get the most out of your holiday.

Our Service is tailored to your individual Care requirements. Whether you have Personal Care needs or are looking for Social Companionship, we are confident in offering you a High quality Care Service.

Live in Care

Our Live-In Care Service offers you a high level of flexibility from simple things such as, choosing your meals and watching your favourite programmes on television, through to having the freedom to be active each day knowing there is someone there to support your care requirements.  Many people with long term conditions prefer to stay in their own home as much as possible rather than move into residential or nursing care.

Petals Care can help provide a bespoke live-In Care Service, whereby the  Carer is able to live-in your home full time or for just a few days of the week, supporting you to remain independent in the comfort of your own home.  Our Live-In Care Service affords your family and friends peace of mind, knowing that you are benefiting from the expert care of highly skilled care professionals, in the place where you are most comfortable.

The benefit of being in one’s own home is that regular routines such as mealtimes and bathing are maintained. Having a Live-In Carer avoids the need to make alternative arrangements and provides confidence and motivation that encourages good health and independence.  This can be a cost effective alternative to long or short stays in residential care or nursing homes.

Short Break & Respite Care

Caring for someone can be a huge undertaking and Carers sometimes need a break. This may be provided in a number of ways.  You may wish to go into a Care Home for a week or two or a specialist short term break facility, you could have home-based respite care, where another carer moves into your home to care for you, or you could have family-based respite care where you move into another family’s home for a period.

Respite is the reprieve or relief for the Primary Carer from their regular duties for a period of time.  This is most beneficial when rest and relief are needed for family members who are assisting with the Care of their loved ones.

Petals Care will provide assistance to allow the family member to run errands, shop, socialise, or get some much-needed rest.  This respite may be provided every day or on a weekly basis.
